Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), continues to contribute to its academic collaborations within the framework of its internationalization vision through cultural events. Within the scope of the bilateral cooperation carried out with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of Uzbekistan (UWED), four Uzbek students and five academic staff present at MAKÜ for the TÖMER Summer School Program introduced their culture at the event held at the Book Cafe.
The event was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, academic staff from TÖMER and the International Relations Coordination, as well as Uzbek academic staff and students.
The event was organized within the framework of the TÖMER Summer School Program carried out under the existing bilateral cooperation protocol between MAKÜ and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of Uzbekistan. As part of the program, Uzbek students studying at MAKÜ have the opportunity to closely learn about Turkey's history, traditions, and daily life through intensive Turkish language training, as well as cultural and social activities.
During the summer school program, participants who also visited Burdur and surrounding provinces had the opportunity to closely learn about different cultures, contributing to the strengthening of friendship and solidarity ties between the two countries. The academic and cultural activities carried out within this scope not only strengthen the cooperation between the two universities but also support the goals of developing student and academician exchange programs and increasing joint scientific research.
